Peace, Love & Joy - FFFC #227 'Christmas/New Year'

Hello.  Happy Friday!

We're starting off our last challenge at the Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge blog.  The theme for the final challenge is 'Christmas/New Year.'  I hope you'll be able to join us.

For this challenge, I've created a tunnel card.

The aim of a tunnel card is to create a 3-dimensional scene inside the card, creating an illusion of depth.

It's made up from a number of frames.  You can have as many frames as you want, but I've settled on having 5 frames.  (The bare trees were all cut out by hand as I had to have them in increasing/decreasing sizes--no dies for these! sigh)

The frames are attached to two folded accordion strips of paper, one on each side.

I've turned the back panel into another frame inserted with a piece of vellum paper.  My intention was to position a lit LED tea candle behind the back of the card and...

I wanted to be able to see the glow of the candle through the vellum so it looks like the lantern is glowing.

Cool, eh?

The two side flaps are really the front covers for the card.  I've put a magnetic disc between the folded layers of each flap so they can snap together when one flap is brought over the other.

The card, when closed, is only 1/4 inch high.

A closer look at the adorable image being featured.

This stamped imaged from Magnolia Stamps...

is called 'Midwinter Tilda' from their Sweet Christmas Dreams Collection 2011.
I've coloured Tilda with my alcohol-ink markers and also coloured pencils.

That's it or me!  Thanks for stopping by.  Enjoy your day, have a wonderful weekend and, like the sentiments on my card, have a holiday season filled with Peace, Love and Joy!

Angelic Advent Calendar - FFFC #225 'Anything Goes'

Hello.

We've got another new challenge today at the Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge blog.  For the next fortnight, the theme is 'Anything Goes.'  So it's easy peasy...everybody's favorite!  Check out the details at the challenge blog and also what my teammates have created to inspire you to play along with us.

As for me, this is what I've created...an Advent Calendar.

There are 25 stars there, each numbered from 1 to 25 for the days in December leading to Christmas.

and each star can be flipped over to the back of the card.

I'm using sort of a side-step card as the base for the advent calendar.

I don't have a large-star die (sigh), so the big stars were all cut out by hand...ugh.
I did that with the clouds as well.  For the templates, I searched the internet for cliparts of cloud images and enlarge them.

A closer look at the rubber-stamped images being featured.

This cute little angel is called 'Dancing with Stars Tilda.'

And this one is called 'Little Tilda.'
Both these images are from the 'A Little Christmas Collection 2012' from Magnolia Stamps.  I've done the colouring with alcohol-ink markers and coloured pencils.

Okay, that's it for me for now.  Much appreciate you dropping by.  Enjoy your day and have a wonderful weekend!
